COBS Bread French Toast
Let's Make Some Dough

Here's a quick and easy recipe for an awesome french toast using COBS Bread's Cinnamon Loaf for french toast.  It takes about 15 minutes to prep and make 

You'll need the following equipment:


  • a large griddle or a BIG Frying pan.

  • A bowl large enough to mix and then dip slices of bread into

  • A set of tongs (to dip the bread)

  • A flat spatula for flipping

Ingredients you will need

  • 1 Loaf of COBS Cinnamon Bread
    (Don't forget to buy this on Nov 9th at 1445 Harmony Road, Oshawa)


  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla

  • 1/2 a cup of Milk

  • 3 Eggs

  • ** Optional ** Icing Sugar

  • ** Optional ** Fruit (strawberries, blueberries, melon etc)

  • ** Optional ** Maple Syrup

Preheat the griddle (approximately 375 degrees F) or the frying pan on medium-high heat.

Beat the eggs in the large bowl to make a fairly consistent liquid.  Mix in the milk, and vanilla.  Lightly add the cinnamon while mixing to prevent it from clumping together.

If you like your french toast soggy and soft, use the bread as-is.  If you like it firmer, toast the bread LIGHTLY before dipping it in the french toast batter.

For each slice of bread, using tongs, dip into the mixture being careful to cover both sides evenly.  Don't let it sit in the mixture too long to make the bread soggy (This is especially important if you chose not to toast your bread first) as you won't be able to get the bread out in one piece.  Place immediately on the preheated griddle or pan.  Place as many as you have room for.  let sit for 1-2 minutes and flip to the other side.


Once both sides are light brown, sprinkle with icing sugar, fruit and/or maple syrup and serve warm.
